Brighton & Hove Music & Arts – communications strategy

BHMA communications strategy“Anita did great work with our leadership team, really listening to our initial thoughts, progressing the thinking, and then developing a helpful communications strategy with tangible outcomes. This has built on the work she had already carried out, working with our teams on digital marketing, and communications work for Our Future City”. Peter Chivers, Head of Brighton & Hove Music & Arts, lead partner in SoundCity music education hub; Director, Our Future City.

“Thanks so much for your support and advice in the early days of me bumbling my way through the newsletter (which I started off hating but it then grew on me).” Sharon Murrell, Marketing Coordinator Brighton & Hove Music & Arts and SoundCity music education hub.

We created a communications strategy and plan for Brighton & Hove Music & Arts (BHMA), ahead of its transfer from the Council to Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival.

BHMA is the lead partner of the award winning SoundCity, the music education hub for Brighton & Hove. It provides high quality and inclusive music and arts opportunities for young people across the city.

It brings together the leading organisations for music in the city, and this partnership reflects the unique artistic and cultural landscape of the city, whose key mission is to enhance and further develop music education and opportunities that reflect the needs of children and young people.

The work involved background research, workshops with staff, and writing up a short communications strategy and plan which is now being used as the foundation for BHMA’s communications.
