Writing for the web INSET day

RiO (Real Ideas Organisation) is a pioneering social enterprise which creates and provides programmes, products and services that help young people realise their potential.

As part of its work with Newnham St Peters Primary School through Creative Partnerships, RiO wanted to help the schools Literacy Coordinator learn about writing for the web.

I researched, developed and delivered a one-to-one INSET day. The training included topics such as: why writing for the web is different to writing for print; how people read and navigate on the web; what they like to see/do on a website; and the principles of good digital writing.

The teacher has since run sessions with pupils at the school, helping them to approach their writing differently when they write for their school website and class blog.
