What is community music?

Community music is about people having the opportunity to participate in music. It can contribute to social justice, community development and regeneration, life-long learning, social inclusion and health and wellbeing. Anita's work involved promoting community music to a variety of different audiences through direct marketing campaigns (targeted to funders, government, policy makers); writing, editing and producing publications; promoting Sound Sense's events and publications to those involved in community music and music education, and writing articles for a range of publications read by the target markets.

“Anita's writing is clear and direct, but not dry. Her communications and promotion work is always well targeted and sensitive to the audience, as well as being attractive and helpful.”
Kathryn Deane, Director, Sound Sense.
