Website editing for Every Child Matters website

Every Child Matters is the Department for Children, School and Families’ (DCSF) new website, combining content from three previous websites into a useful online tool for the children’s workforce.

I was part of a team of specialist editors for the web, charged with ensuring that content had transferred correctly and was in keeping with the DCSF’s copy style guide. This involved editing, re-writing and writing copy, and using a new and complex content management system to upload content onto the site.

I am continuing to work with the project partners Inspired Communication Partnership and Scroll, as an editor for the new site. This involves editing content prepared by Department staff so that it is suitable for the way people use and read websites, and conforms to the ECM style guide.
