Report and case studies - equality in enterprise

The Cyfenter Development Partnership (Cyfenter) is an action research project funded by the Welsh Development Agency and the European Social Fund to work directly with entrepreneurs from groups that are under-represented in enterprise: young people, over 50s, ethnic minority groups, refugees, disabled people and Welsh speakers.

By finding out about these people’s experiences of starting and growing their businesses, the project is identifying how the barriers they have faced might be overcome through improved business support policies and practices.

One of the main aims of the project is to influence policy makers and support providers to create change in policies and practices. A standard research report doesn’t always get the message across, so the Cyfenter team asked Writing Services to edit the first research report to make it more effective, and to research and write case studies on four of the participants to bring their stories to life.

“Anita has flexible writing skills which were just what the Cyfenter Development Partnership needed, as our communications are disseminated to a wide range of audiences, from policy makers and senior civil servants, to small business owners. She used effective interviewing skills to produce interesting and relevant case studies; strong writing skills to get our messages across in these and our seminar reports, and all projects were delivered on time and to an extremely high standard.”
Cerris Dearsley-Hopkins, Cyfenter Communications Executive.
