I have experience as as Marketing Manager and Head of Communications, and have carried out media and marketing campaigns at a local, regional and national level. I work with colleagues in print and design or can work with your preferred suppliers.

I specialise in writing for arts and music publications (particularly community arts), but I've also written for third sector (social justice/charity), health and education ; consumer; specialist and local publications.

I started my working life on a local newspaper, and have experience of all types of feature writing, from celebrity interviews to in-depth, researched, articles.

I specialise in music and the community arts, and has more than 18 years’ experience in arts marketing and arts development.

I've been the Marketing Manager of a music venue; Head of Communications for a community music development agency; and I've worked on a range of arts and music-related projects as a freelancer.

Making your words more effective

Once you’ve written your text, you may need someone to make it sharper, clearer and easier to read. I can help by:

  • checking for correct grammar and spelling and making sure copy is consistent and factually correct
  • ensuring the style of writing is coherent, and appropriate for you and your readers and creating a house style
  • editing or re-writing copy to make it more effective or to fit a word count and restructuring where needed with box-outs or sub-headings
  • working with graphic designers and printers to ensure consistency of approach or managing the process of producing a publication from concept to print
